Durable and reliable repair of shaft sliding surfaces with KS Kolbenschmidt shaft protection sleeves

Protective shaft sleeves are used in the repair of worn or broken radial shaft seal sliding surfaces on shafts, e.g. in drive technology.

They provide a cost-effective alternative to replacement or costly remachining of the worn shaft, as they can be easily slid over the damaged sliding surface.

The protective shaft sleeves are manufactured to a high quality using state-of-the-art production processes and comply with the stringent quality standards set by KS Kolbenschmidt and Motorservice.

We offer you a wide range of KS Kolbenschmidt protective shaft sleeves.

Area of application

The WSH R protective shaft sleeves are used in the repair of worn or broken radial shaft seal sliding surfaces on shafts, e.g. in drive technology. They provide a cost-effective alternative to replacement or costly remachining of the worn shaft, as they can be easily slid over the worn sliding surface. In the event of repair, a radial shaft seal with the original dimensions may be used, which is usually available in stock.

Deep wear grooves can lead to the original dimensions of the radial shaft seal having to be replaced with a ring with a smaller inner diameter, as the original diameter was significantly reduced when the shaft was remachined.

This problem of worn shafts in the sliding surface zone can be easily and pragmatically solved through the use of the WSH R, without having to remove the shaft and remachine it at great cost or using a different-sized radial shaft seal.

Function and benefits

Using the WSH R in repair work helps to restore a flawless function quickly and durably. The protective shaft sleeve is used as a counter sliding surface to the radial shaft seal in a tribological rotation sealing system, i.e. the WSH R is the third important component alongside the radial shaft seal and the lubricant used.

WSH R protective shaft sleeves offer the user the following benefits

  • Simple and quick repair, the mounting sleeve is also supplied
  • Cost-effective restoration of the sliding surface on the shaft, since there is no dismantling or remachining of the shaft
  • Reduction of costly machine downtimes since the repair time is reduced to a minimum
  • Retention of the original seal dimension
  • The radial shaft seal sliding surface is permanently restored to its fully functional state
  • Inexpensive repair method
  • Secure fit on the shaft through press fitting
  • Optimally treated and wear-resistant surface guarantees a long service life
  • Simplification of spare part provisioning
