Motorservice spendet 2.000 Euro an THW

Vertreter der Firma Motorservice aus Neuenstadt besuchten am 19. September das Technische Hilfswerk (THW) in Widdern, um sich persönlich für den Einsatz beim Unwetter Mitte August zu bedanken. Neben einem Dankesschreiben der Geschäftsleitung überreichten sie einen Spendenscheck in Höhe von 2.000 Euro.

Zwei Tage war das THW Widdern mit insgesamt 20 Leuten im Einsatz, um eine vom Unwetter beschädigte Lagerhalle der Firma MS Motorservice International vor noch größeren Schäden zu bewahren. „Dass ihr so schnell da wart und uns aus der Patsche geholfen habt, das können wir euch nicht hoch genug anrechnen“, betonte Jürgen Nowack, Logistikleiter der Firma, beim Besuch in Widdern. Sein Kollege, Personalleiter Heiko Göttler, pflichtete ihm bei: „Ihr habt wirklich einen grandiosen Job gemacht. Dafür danken wir euch von Herzen. Deshalb möchten wir euer ehrenamtliches Engagement auch finanziell unterstützen. Denn beim THW haben wir definitiv Gewissheit, dass die Spende sinnvoll eingesetzt wird.“

300.000 Euro Schaden
Ein starkes Unwetter mit Starkregen, Hagelschauern und orkanartigen Stürmen fegte am Abend des 18. August über den Raum Heilbronn und Hohenlohe hinweg und hinterließ eine Schneise der Verwüstung: Bäume wurden entwurzelt, Keller liefen voll, Autobahnen waren unbefahrbar. Auch bei der Firma Motorservice verursachte der Sturm einen erheblichen Schaden. So rissen die starken Böen Wandelement aus der Fassade einer Logistikhalle und schleuderten diese zum Teil viele Meter weit durch die Luft. In der Halle stand das Wasser zentimeterhoch. Logistikleiter Jürgen Nowack schätzte den Schaden noch am selben Abend auf etwa 300.000 Euro. Dank des beherzten Einsatzes des THW Widdern konnte noch Schlimmeres verhindert werden.

Jens Weihbrecht, Vorstand vom Förderverein des THW in Widdern, der die finanzielle Zuwendung der Firma am vergangenen Dienstag entgegen nahm, zeigte sich von der Geste sehr angetan: „Wir freuen uns riesig über die Spende, schließlich sind wir auf solche Gelder angewiesen. Dass Sie aber persönlich vorbeikommen, um Danke zu sagen, ist einfach eine richtig schöne Sache – auch deshalb leisten wir hier beim THW gerne unsere gemeinnützige Arbeit.“
