In July 2018, Motorservice inaugurated MS Motorservice Trading (Asia) Pte. Ltd. in Singapore. The purpose of the new subsidiary was to strengthen the spare-parts specialist’s presence in the South East Asian market. Since the opening of the subsidiary, the company – which operates in over 140 countries – has been leveraging the strategic location of this metropolis to expand its Independent Aftermarket (IAM) activities in Singapore and Malaysia. Now, exactly one year later, the subsidiary has taken over responsibility for the remaining ASEAN states – Indonesia, Thailand, the Philippines, Myanmar, Cambodia and Vietnam.
To effectuate this, the team was expanded locally with the necessary personnel. Jasmin Lau was appointed for Sales Support and Melvin Soh brought in as Sales Manager. Mr Kusman Bok, who is the Motorservice representative for Indonesia and Thailand, was the final addition to the team. The subsidiary also already successfully implemented SAP software in January 2019. This enabled invoicing to start being conducted directly from Singapore.
“Thanks to our new colleagues, we are in a position to perform our services in this region – which is so important for us – in an even greater professional capacity. It has provided Motorservice with an even stronger potential for growth. I am very optimistic that both we and our customers will benefit from this important step together,” stated Dr Oliver Lazar, Sales Director at MS Motorservice Trading (Asia) Pte. Ltd.
