Electric valves

Electric Valves from Pierburg are used for the circuit and control of suction tubes, secondary air systems, waste gas valves, air conditioning systems, cylinder disconnections as well as with the realization by comfort and safety functions.

Electropneumatic transducers (EPW)

  • For controlling pneumatic EGR valves, VTG turbochargers, the bypass changeover switch on EGR coolers.
  • A faulty electropneumatic pressure transducer becomes evident through black smoke, lack of power, vehicle jerking or switching to limp-home mode.

Electric pressure transducers (EDW, DW)

  • This is an intermediate stage in the development from the electric switchover valve (EUV) to the electropneumatic pressure transducer (EPW).
  • They consist of an electric switchover valve fitted with a pressure limiter.

Electric switchover valves (EUV)

Electric switchover valves are generally employed in situations where there is a need for pneumatic actuators to perform a simple open-close function. This applies to bypass flaps on EGR coolers, exhaust gas flaps, secondary air valves, intake manifold flaps and boost pressure control valves (wastegate).

Activated carbon filter (ACF) valves

  • Canister purge shut-off valves: For sealing the fresh air connection on the ACF during tank leakage diagnosis (OBD II).
  • ACF regeneration valves: For purging the ACF filter.

Fuel shut-off valves

For hooking up or disconnecting in fuel lines (as an immobiliser) and for preventing
fuel from escaping when the engine is switched off.

Electric recirculating air valves

Are used on the turbocharger of charged petrol engines and minimise the "turbo lag" effect considerably.
